Common Questions About the CFAT
What happens if I fail the CFAT?
If you fail or score too low, the military makes you wait months before you can try again. This causes a "Trade Lock-Out" where you are either stuck waiting around, or forced to settle for a trade you don't actually want just to get in.
What is the CFAT problem-solving syllabus?
The problem-solving section tests your basic math and logic skills without allowing a calculator. You will need to handle fractions, decimals, basic algebra, and tricky word problems under a very tight time limit.
How does the Spatial ability test Canadian forces use actually work?
The spatial section asks you to mentally fold 2D "nets" into 3D objects, or identify how shapes fit together. Our course teaches you the mechanical rules of edges and shading so you don't have to rely on just guessing.
How does DND aptitude test scoring work for different jobs?
Passing the test isn't a single number. Different jobs have different cut-off scores, meaning you need a much higher score to qualify as an Aviation Systems Technician than you might for other roles.
